The Secret Lives of Trees
I've long enjoyed photographing trees.....from a single stately oak standing proud in a field, to dogwoods blooming in spring, and the unabashed color party they can offer up in fall. But despite the enjoyment they'd always provided for my photographic endeavors and the appreciation I'd developed for them over time, it was quite some time before I truly began to 'see' the stories that unfold in them if one is willing to use just a smidgeon of imagination. From an amorous couple not averse to displaying their affection in front of the neighbors....to a family who enjoys their privacy and distance from the hubbub of the 'mainstream'.....to a single brave young member of a community stepping boldly out into the light and breaking away from all the dark secrets of that community. It's all there for the viewing. And I'm glad to have finally opened my eyes.
