Echos Across Time.........
I'd had a trip to this MO state park on the ToDo list for some time and finally made the trip over the recent Labor Day weekend. Though it's a sizable park with numerous reasons to visit, it was the ruins of a large early 1900's built mansion styled after 16th century European castles that prompted my interest.
A rather stately mansion it must have been in it's prime that had, unfortunately, been destroyed by fire in 1942. And the fire like sensibility in the clouds gave me the sense of having captured an echo of what the scene may have looked like 75 years prior during the original destructive event.
