Yeah....right.

Tell that to someone standing at the edge of the Grand Canyon...or at the edge of the sea with a sea stack a couple hundred yards offshore....or probably a gazillion other scenarios where doing so is simply not practical and a zoom lens is THE appropriate lens choice.
