On This Day - April 2020
They are being accumulated by month/year simply to minimize the time needed to post them here.
Tremont 006, 04/30/2015 . #OnThisDay - 04/30 . This one comes from a trip to Great Smoky Mountain National Park in the spring of 2015. It would be difficult to find a locale that better displays the effusive greens that come with an early spring morning. Combine that with a river strewn with boulders turning the river into a continuous series of cascades makes for a terrific experience. Add in the calming sounds available early morning and it's about as good as a hot fudge sundae. Dunno about you, but I could stand a bit of that Zen like nature therapy about now.
Arches National Park 011, 04/29/2005
#OnThisDay post for 4/29 comes from Arches National Park and one of my favorite formations in Arches...Balanced Rock...with the LaSal Mountains in the distance.
Canyonlands National Park 013, 04/26/2005
The #OnThisDay post for 4/26. Of all the images in my catalog of 18+ yr of digital images, the only ones captured on a 4/26 date were from this trip to the Moab, Utah area in 2005. I selected this evening capture for the gradated fall off of the light as the canyon gets deeper as well as the snow capped LaSal Mountains in the distance.
Arches National Park 042, 04/28/2005
The #OnThisDay post for 4/28. Another from the spring 2005 trip to Utah. This one so obviously deserves an 'ET...Phone Home' caption. Little formations like this just drip from the walls of many of the huge rock formations in Arches. And I found this one wall with just oodles of them and spent almost an entire shooting session exploring.
