Don Robinson State Park 0013, 11/30/2019
Don Robinson State Park on a foggy am. Recall being a bit surprised at how green the moss covered rocks were in the park. But it was the double trunked tree...with the snake like curves in one of those trunks that caught my eye and made me stop for this shot.
I passed this little lake on my way to/from work every day ever since moving out to the lake and had, on several occasions, wished I had my camera along when fog was in the area. This one was captured on a Sunday morning, and I don't recall why I was out and about at sunrise, but was happy I did have the camera with me this time.
Lake Tishomingo 004, 11/15/2018
We'd had a 4-5" snow the previous day and reports on road conditions even this next am weren't good. So, rather than risk driving to a shooting location, I grabbed the gear and started wandering around the lake and off into the woods along the main feeder creek into the lake. When I happened upon this scene, I couldn't help but think 'The Portal' .
Lake Tishomingo 0094, 11/07/2015
A location on our lake I seldom visit, but I'd shot all the 'usual suspects' on this foggy morning and was just wandering across our dam looking for alternate views. One of THE best foggy mornings I've been fortunate to enjoy on the lake.
Lake Tishomingo 011, 11/03/2007
One of my all time favorite images from the lake community where I reside. Thought truly just a 'postcard' pic, this one has always evoked a serene quality for me.
The White House 005, 11/29/2002
A portion of one of the outbuildings at my sister's place in Red Bud, IL. I was intrigued by the very straight/formal lines of the man made bits of the building contrasted against the much more organic nature of the decay occurring on those bits. Also didn't hurt to see the little PacMan-esque bit on the right side of the shot. :)
MO Botanical Garden 0017, 11/25/2016
Note the date this was captured...11/25. Was not expecting to find such robust autumn colors... even at 'the garden'... this late in the season. Typically, the season is all but over right around 11/10, if not sooner. But there were several pockets to be found in the Japanese Garden area in 2016.
Lake Tishomingo 032, 11/20/2010
The 85,213th image captured from this location. Might be a 'titch' of hyperbole included there, but I have shot from this spot a whole big bunch.
Lake Tishomingo Moon 0014, 11/13/2016
The one and only time I've ever deliberately shot the moon for the sake of the moon.
Ferdinand Park 003, 11/09/2019
Mandarin ducks are something of a rareity in the St. Louis, MO area. But this one has been known to return to this small city park in North STL County for at least a couple years running now.
I believe this is the first image I've included in this photoblog that was captured with the phone. I'd headed to Goia's Deli for lunch at work on this day for a hot salami sandwich (THE best deli sandwich in STL!!). I remember sitting at one of the outdoor tables scarfing down the sandwich and being intrigued by some interesting cloud formations that were forming. But it wasn't until I'd finished lunch and headed to the car before I discovered this 'fire in the sky' scene occurring behind where I'd been sitting. Had to scramble to make it over to the southeast corner of Forest Park to find a location I could do them justice in an image that did not have a 'city' scene full of power lines and such.
Don Robinson State Park 0044, 11/02/2018
A very foggy morning at Don Robinson State Park found this little dogwood(?) with its autumn party clothes in full display.
Chantilly Lane 015, 11/27/2008
Spotted while walking around the pond at my sister's place after the Thanksgiving feast.
Elephant Rocks State Park 0047, 11/24/2018
When I go to Elephant Rocks State Park, I'm generally looking for images involving the huge pink granite rocks strewn across the park. But I spotted this little scene from the trail that really wasn't much more than a rather large puddle.
Lake Tishomingo 032, 11/17/2012
Another 'lake fog' inspired sunrise from the home territory.
Lake Tishomingo 004, 11/12/2011
I've shot this scene so often, I can't say that I recall this particular session. But as often as I have shot it, there are precious few with the moon included..
