Tattered Canopies

Slivers of sunlight occasionally find their way through the tattered tarpaulin that is a woodland's canopy and illuminate small, otherwise unremarkable, portions of the forest. And for only as long as the sunlight manages to continue peeking through that same hole in the canopy, it transforms this unremarkable area into a leading actor in a starring role on the stage of Woodlands Theatre. But as sure as the earth revolves around the sun, they will relinquish that starring role to another unremarkable area in short order and return to a supporting role. And so it goes throughout the day until the all the lights in Woodlands Theatre are extinguished for the day as the sun scurries to, and sinks below, the horizon.
